About The Club
We are a scuba diving club based close to Croydon in south London. Our club is a
branch of BSAC (British Sub-Aqua Club), the biggest diving club in the world.
Like BSAC, our club is a non-profit making organisation which exists to bring
diving enthusiasts from raw trainees to experienced divers together to develop
skills and take part in diving activities.
There are about 25 active members in the club. We are almost as much a social
club as we are a diving club. Our members come from all walks of life and we
have a wide age range.
We meet every Tuesday night to spend one and a half hours in our pool after
which we develop the social side of the club by adjourning to the local pub.
During the warmer months, we dive from charter boats, normally in the channel
and generally at weekends. Once a year a large percentage of the club's members
enjoy a week's diving and socialising holiday in the Red Sea or other great
diving locations such as Gozo.
We take training and safety matters seriously. Most members in the club joined as
trainees with no scuba diving experience. Several of them are now BSAC Advanced Divers and Instructors.
